For the past 12 months, we've been exploring this question, engaging with inspiring leaders from around the world who have shared their perspectives in our Podcast, "The Impact Interviews".

 

Through these conversations, we've come to understand that creating impact is "the planned implementation of actions designed to create positive social change, including making changes for people, planet or places". 

 

Traditionally, this has been the realm of governments or non-profit organisations but recently, trust in those organisations has been challenged.  When the United Nations created the Sustainability Development Goals in Rio, 2012, it gave a mandate and shared language for all kinds of organisations around the world to embrace the idea of an impact agenda. 

 

When people donate money, time, or their personal stories, they do so with the expectation that their contributions will make a positive difference.  We needed to connect people with impact. So rather than focusing solely on fundraising, we decided to address the real issue - how to fund and elevate the creation of impact. 

 

 To do this, we set about reinventing the payment terminal......
